On shoot with Rinikini: Behind the scenes

The last few months have been a whirlwind. When you finally start making your biggest dreams happen, its an amazing feeling; excitement, nerves, passion. For this pleasure, I have to thank my brother, Tomer, who suggested we start Rinikini together. We’ve always been best friends and our strengths compliment each other, so I was over the moon to start this amazing venture with him!

We spent a long time designing product so it was just what you’re after, and with collection one finished and ready for your enjoyment, it was time to get creative behind the camera… All was not plain sailing, I’ll be honest, but it certainly is a day I’ll remember forever; first we locked ourselves out of our car but no sweat, we jumped in a cab to our shoot location, instead. Arriving at the beach we unloaded tones of props, photographic equipment, food, drink and began to set up camp. As the team began to arrive and the first shot was imminent, we realised we didn’t have the cameras… they were driving round Tel-Aviv in the back of a taxi. The chances of getting them back safely were slim but where there’s a will, there’s a way and, eventually, we found our lovely taxi driver who had kept them safe for us. The show goes on…

With anything creative, the process for me always begins with a mood board and for this shoot I took inspiration from…

A shoot would be nothing without a great team; and we had every confidence in ours; photographer Meir Chohen, Make-up artist Keren Shacham and hair stylist Kobi Kalderon and last but not least our stunning model, Bar Marom. We were after a natural look, and Bar was everything we were looking for; she’s naturally beautiful, has an amazing body, olive skin and a gorgeous smile!

The only concern with location shoots is weather conditions, as much as I would love to be able to control it I just cant but today, as if to show its excitement for the first Rinikini photoshoot, it shone perfectly. As the sun rose above the sea I was once again reminded of why I am so passionate about swimwear.. the seaside is just my favourite place! So calming. The waves were small and the skies were bright with a few scattered clouds that added a beautiful texture to the skies.
