I find my inspiration in many places; nature, cultural crafts, travel, street style – you name it. However, there is nothing quite like Spring-Summer catwalk to lift my spirit and make my creative desires burn! The shows are some of the most exciting events of the fashion year and I follow them avidly. The new colour combinations, individual styling and incredible innovations remind me year on year why I love my job – not that I need reminding.
This season, I’d like to share my catwalk inspiration for this summer with you and show how it helped me design our first and ‘core’ collection. This RiniKini collection is all about giving you an opportunity to be on trend whilst retaining individual and unique style.
For SS16 we saw strong handcraft and relaxed bohemian looks elegantly float down the catwalk; pretty flowers, relaxed styling, vivid colour palettes, contemporary 3D decorative craftwork and all! There were three trends in particular which influenced RiniKini’s range for SS16:
This trend focused on confident and graphic flowers in a range of feminine colours; a mix of delicate and youthful blooms with deeper and more sophisticated types for a more romantic feel. If you like this look then have a closer look at our Chloe bikini – she’s super pretty.
Carrying an air of sophistication, this season reintroduces luxurious metallic opulence with a youthful attitude. If you like this look you will love our Fleur and Angelina bikinis, which are both incredibly glamorous and eye catching. They are perfect for making a statement on a sunny beach!
Traditional handcrafted crochet dominated the catwalk this season; bright colours, bohemian attitude and hippie chic style – this trend holds a special place in my heart because of my passion for crochet and I’m so happy to see it’s a style the fashion world approves of… it feels like a dream come true to see this dominating catwalks, just when I have just launched RiniKini! If you like this look then we have a super exciting range of handmade crochet bikinis for you.
This is definitely the season to be wearing crochet bikinis! Which RiniKini style is your favourite?
